Mr. Chaix received his Bachelor’s Degree from San Diego State University in 1987 and his J.D from Western State University School of Law in 1990. Immediately, he focused his practice to representing homeowners and HOA’s in construction defect litigation. He opened his own practice in 2000. John has been handling construction defect claims for over 30 years and is a pioneer in the industry.
John speaks nationwide to property managers, insurance companies, community association industries and legal forums on topics relevant to the construction defect industry.
With over 25 years of experience in the field of construction defect law and over $100 million in recoveries, John is considered one of the leading construction defect law firms in the Southwest. John supports the HOA industry through the volunteer and educational organizations of Community Association Institute, California Association of Community Managers, and The Leadership Center. Chaix Law continues to build on a history devoted to protecting the rights of homeowners and their associations with construction defects.
John has been married for over 20 years to his wife Michelle and they have three children.
Sarah Petell – Paralegal E-Mail Sarah Petell
Sarah Petell was born and raised in Maine. She graduated from the Atlantic Culinary Academy in 2004, with her Associates in Culinary Arts. The same year, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona to pursue her passion in the culinary arts field; being employed at various resorts and restaurants. After working as an in-house chef at a reporting and litigation firm, she cross-trained within the company and discovered a new interest in the legal field. Over the next seven years, Sarah gained knowledge and experience in many areas at this company, as well as another Phoenix law firm. In April of 2013, she joined Chaix Law as a paralegal. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys making jewelry, cooking, traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
